LASEK Eye Surgery
This is similar to PRK, but is more advanced in that it uses alcohol in solution to first soften then remove the epithelium. The cornea is then lasered and the epithelium is replaced. A contact lens will be put in for four to five days while the epithelium heals.
The advantage of this treatment over PRK is that the healing process is quicker but still avoids the use of a cutting blade to create a cornea flap.
